Post-Plyo

Holy crap. Plyometrics is the one work out that never gets any easier. I seriously feel like my heart is pounding in my brain by the time I'm done. A miracle happened today and I was able to work out while BOTH kids took a nap! It was awesome because that NEVER happens. That means tonight when I normally work out, I am going to get a haircut instead! Anyway, here is a picture of my lobster face taken about one inute after finishing plyo. Enjoy and don't laugh too much.

Week 3

What is my motivation for week 3 and 4? Pictures. I am planning on taking new pics and posting my stats at the end of week 4. It's crazy that phase one is halway over. Working out has been awesome. Hard, but awesome. Eating healthy...not so great. The diet portion is most definitely my weakness and I would be lying if I said I've done a good job with it. I am trying though and the next two weeks will be better. PLUS...For my birthday, Berkeley gave me $200 to buy new clothes when this is all over. I REALLY want to be buying less material at that time, if you know what I mean. SO, all is well. I am working out faithfully and the diet is a work in progress. Tonight I am doing Legs and Back and also Ab Ripper. Can't wait!

Get in my Belly!

For me, the hardest part of any fitness plan is the diet. I can't tell you how much I hate limiting what I eat...especially when it comes to treats. Man, I love me some cookies...and chocolate...and pretty much anything when the main ingredient is sugar. The thing is, I feel so much better when I'm not eating all that junk! I don't know why it is so hard to avoid when I know how much better I feel. Anyway, the last two weeks have been great as far as working out goes, but my diet needs some work for sure. Now that I have nearly two weeks of exercising behind me, I am really going to focus on eating better. There is no way I will totally cut out sugar, but I am going to do my best to limit it to only once or twice a week and I am also going to work on portion control when it comes to all other food. I tend to eat until stuffed at meals rather than until satisfied. So, those are my new goals. It's going to be great! I'm going to feel and look great too!

Yoga and Kenpo

Yoga. Oh man, I love yoga. When I am struggling to stay in those funky positions, I often wonder "why the heck am I doing this?!" then the workout ends and I seriously feel like a million bucks. I won't lie though, the P90X yoga DVD is an hour and a half long. I only do about 45 minutes to an hour of it. The moving, hard part is the first 45 minutes and then its a bunch of balance poses, that quite honestly, I don't have time for. I do love that glorious first hour though.
Kenpo. This is by far my very favorite P90X workout. It is a butt kicking good time and the hour goes super fast. Don't you love it when working out is so fun, the time flies, and somehow you end up all sweaty? Love it.
The next two weeks consist of the same workouts I have done this week, so I will posting sporatically as I feel I need or want to. Keep following! Keep me motivated!

Shoulders and Arms

I totally love this workout. It was awesome. I also did Ab Ripper again and that is a killer every time, but it is so worth it in the end! I am super motivated and excited to be doing this. Tomorrow is yoga. Ooooh, I love yoga.

Plyo Hell...in a Good Way.

Was Plyo as hard as I remembered it to be? Yes and so much worse! It was super exhausting, but when I finished, I felt awesome! Here is my red, sweaty post-plyo face...

And now, a word of advice for those who are interested in doing the P90X program...I did a bunch of research on recovery drinks (P90X offers one too) and this is the one that got the best reviews. I drank it for the first time last night after plyo and was suprised to find that it tastes really good. Not chalky or weird like most recovery drinks. So, I recommend this wonderful, magic drink that helps me not feel crazy tired or sore...

Puke Pushes Plyo.

Yesterday was Plyometrics, but my son woke up sick at 4 AM and stayed sick all day long. I know days like this are going to happen, but it's hard to miss a work out when I feel so motivated. I am pretty sure little man is feeling better today, so tonight I will be doing plyo...and wanting to die. As far as my diet went yesterday, I hardly ate! It's not hard to avoid food when your dealing with throw-up. Yeah, I get pretty queasy, so maybe my lack of food made up for my lack of working out yesterday!! Here's hoping today is a much better day.

First Workout Done!

Tonight I did Chest and Back followed by Ab Ripper. It was awesome... and hard... and awesome! Man, exercising makes me feel so good. I would be lying if I said I didn't struggle...oh I struggled big time! By the last few sets of push-ups, I could hardly get my face off the floor, but I did my best. My little brother, David, decided he would do the program with me until he leaves for his mission and I am so happy about that! He is a good motivator and pushes me to do more. Here is a picture post-workout.

SUPER embarrasing.

Okay, I have been dreading this first post for one reason only...BEFORE PICTURES. I mean, really, who enjoys posting terrible pictures of themselves?! I just keep telling myself "You have to start somewhere." How will I know how far I've come if I don't document the beginning? So, with that said, here are my P90X day one pictures...
Starting weight: 142 lbs.

Since I am nursing, I can't follow the program's dietary guidlines exactly, but I am doing my best to create healthy meals and having healthy snacks between meals. Here is what I had for lunch today. It was really good! It's a good thing I like veggies and chicken because I think I will be eating a lot of them.

Tonight I will be doing my first work-out, chest and back and ab ripper. I will post again tonight to let you know it goes!
